Adjusting to our new life

I'm a single Mom to a toddler boy. We recently moved here from out of state to live with my mom while I return to school. My son is the first grandchild in the family and my mom just loves to dote on him. I've been really grateful for the help. Raising a child as a single parent is tough work!

So I've been in the medical field for nearly 10 years, working as a Paramedic. While I love the medical field and providing patient care, it's time for me to find a career that offers better pay, career stability, and a better lifestyle for my son.

Right now, I am taking some online web design courses. I love the online classes. I can do the work at my own pace and without having to sacrifice my time with my son. It allows me the freedom and the flexibility that we need right now. I'm hoping that this will give me some steady income while finishing my Bachelor's Degree and then the real tough work will begin. I'm considering law school after obtaining my undergraduate degree.

Having my mom around has been a blessing. She enjoys spending time with her grandson. It gives me a break and they get bonding time. I'm very lucky to have my family support and my son is lucky that he will grow up with all the love that he'll ever need.
